A company can be compared to a basketball team, with scorers, strategists and a tight team to face challenges.

For this harmony, I have to mention the crucial addition of a Chief Energy Officer (CEO). Inspired by an American college basketball player, the CEO energizes the team, offering support and increasing the tension of the time. The example of Conrad Hawley, a former forward who became a CEO, illustrates this role. The CEO is vital to organizational health, as "energy" is critical to collaboration, information flow, and innovation. Energy reflects positive perspectives among colleagues, improves relationships and the quality of the work environment.

Studies highlight that energy is a key component in building trust in organizations, even surpassing expertise and consistency. The presence of energy officers across the enterprise can be more valuable than traditional command-and-control leadership. Companies are recognizing the importance of energy as a corporate competency, efficiency and entrepreneurship. Leaders such as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, point out that creating energy is crucial to long-term success, reflected in a time that starts off strong, like hitting a 3-pointer.
