After trips to Mexico and Israel, I was able to reflect on how the culture of different societies expresses itself in rituals and events, shaping their identities and teaching valuable lessons about organization and goal achievement. The enduring power of culture is evident in carnival celebrations around the world, all of which have roots in ancient tribal festivals.
In the text, I explore the uniqueness of the Brazilian carnival and its ability to unite people from different backgrounds around joy, while other nations pay homage to traditions such as the Venetian masks. Carnival is an expression of the national soul and also big business. It is an example of a Cult Brand, which nurtures strong ties with the audience, has a unique personality and addresses causes, similar to modern brands engaged in social issues.
