How often do you need to take transformative action?

Fábio Milnitzky, founder and CEO of iN | VocêRH Column

The past year was challenging, especially for leaders, who had to make uncertain decisions. Inspired by Wynton Marsalis' lectures on American music at Harvard University, I explore the relationship between jazz and social transformations contained in the text.

Jazz, since its origins in New Orleans, has promoted diversity, improvisation and teamwork, challenging oppression and prejudice. Jazz's role as a social catalyst is compared to the ability of employees to transform organizations. Diversity, discussed in the corporate environment, is seen as a social commitment. Diversity committees, just like jazz revolutionized society. Such groups influence beyond companies, affecting homes and social contexts.

I need to emphasize the ability to work with purpose, driving change in any industry. Just as jazz originated from different styles, working groups are made of diverse histories, capable of catalyzing change. Jazz is a source of inspiration for social transformation, just as individuals influence change in companies and society.
