Professionals are willing to earn less in exchange for flexibility

The corporate world has undergone a radical transformation in recent years, marking the end of the traditional career path. The rapid evolution of technology and the digital revolution have redefined sectors such as finance, commerce, education, and healthcare. The introduction of artificial intelligence has further deepened this change, making many functions obsolete. The professional identity crisis, which started in the pandemic, resulted in a mental health crisis in the workplace, affecting not only millennials, but all professionals.

In the past, a successful career followed a familiar pattern, with growth in large companies. However, technology has brought digital tools and the possibility of easier undertaking, which made self-employment and entrepreneurship more attractive. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated these changes, leading to an increase in homework and a reassessment of traditional work models.

The role of the Human Resources (HR) areas has also changed significantly. Becoming strategic is now essential for the survival of companies, as competition is not just about business models, but also about people management culture. Companies must position themselves as promoters of future projects for professionals, offering security, long-term vision and opportunities for growth.

Continuous evolution and reinvention are necessary for individuals and companies alike. Although the traditional corporate career is over, professionals can still be protagonists of their own journey. Companies that look to the future and offer a diverse and enriching environment will have the best allies in their quest for success.
